Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting and enhancing day-to-day HR operations, with a primary focus on payroll, benefits, employee support, compliance, and HR process improvement.
This position reports to and partners closely with the Human Resource Manager to support and evolve HR operations.
This role is ideal for an individual who is energized by working across multiple areas of Human Resources in a progressive, employee-centered environment. The position emphasizes process improvement, operational consistency, and building scalable HR practices. While providing support in recruiting and onboarding, the primary responsibility is to maintain and enhance foundational HR operations.
We are seeking someone who is agile, detail-oriented, and eager to grow with the organization, someone who takes ownership of their work while continuously looking for ways to improve how things are done.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
Process semi-monthly payroll, including updates, deductions, and adjustments
- Manage payroll changes, benefit deductions, and profit-sharing contributions
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Support payroll audits and reporting needs
Benefits Administration
Manage employee benefit enrollments (new hires, annual enrollment, life events, terminations)
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefit questions
- Coordinate with benefits broker and track eligibility/compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate benefits records and assist with annual renewal processes
HR Administration & Compliance Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS
- Ensure compliance with documentation requirements (I-9s, employee data, etc.)
- Prepare reports and support audits
- Assist with employee handbook updates and policy administration
HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and optimize HRIS systems and workflows
- Document and improve HR processes to increase efficiency and consistency
- Create tools, templates, and resources to support employees and leadership
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the employee experience
Recruiting & Onboarding Support
- Assist with job postings and coordination of interviews
- Support candidate communications and pre-employment steps
- Assist with onboarding preparation and new hire logistics
- Provide administrative support to recruiting efforts as needed
Qualifications
- 25 years of experience in Human Resources or a related role
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing and benefits administration
- Experience working within an HRIS system
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion
