Waypoint’s client is seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Systems Engineer to provide senior technical and advisory support to a missile defense program office. This role focuses on the refinement, implementation, and standardization of MBSE design practices across a portfolio of complex defense systems.
The selected candidate will support the development and execution of a Government Reference Architecture (GRA) using MBSE methodologies, ensuring consistency, traceability, and alignment across current and future programs.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the architect for implementation of the Government Reference Architecture (GRA) MBSE solution across the program office.
- Author process documentation, develop template frameworks, and establish metric reporting methods to support MBSE execution.
- Develop, maintain, and manage system models using Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML.
- Perform requirements analysis to create and maintain architecture models aligned with mission needs.
- Lead systems engineering efforts to elicit and define stakeholder requirements.
- Conduct functional analysis using Model-Based Systems Engineering techniques and tools.
- Define and decompose system requirements and ensure traceability within MBSE environments.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on MBSE methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Required:
- Active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree with 20 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 12 years of experience, supporting missile defense or DoD programs.
- Expert knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML.
- Experience developing and maintaining architecture models and system requirements.
- Experience with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF and/or UAF.
- Experience supporting systems engineering lifecycle activities within DoD programs.
Desired:
- Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs and processes.
- Experience supporting missile systems, target systems, missile defense, or hypersonic programs.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG).
- Exposure to MDA test events and system integration activities.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level MBSE implementations across multiple programs.
