Position Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Biology, or Veterinary Technology from an accredited college or university.
- VTNE certification and licensure by the OVMLB.
- We are open to students close to finishing their program and preparing for the VTNE (one of our DVMs happens to be a former RVT instructor and loves teaching and training!).
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the veterinary field.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively interact with clients and staff.
- Must be able to work at least one weekend each month.
What might a typical day of responsibilities look like?
- Provide client education and effectively communicate with clients.
- Safely restrain patients using proper techniques for procedures.
- Assist veterinarians with appointments, patient care, and medication administration.
- Support inventory management by conducting counts and maintaining stock.
- Prepare supplies and equipment for procedures.
- Collect and process laboratory samples.
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical preparations.
- Maintain medical equipment according to established protocols.
- Assist with administrative tasks including phone inquiries, appointment scheduling, and record-keeping.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training sessions.
