All candidates applying for the Waynesboro Veterinary Clinic’s Certified Veterinary Technician Assistant position are expected to meet/learn the following criteria:
- Minimum of a High School diploma
- 1 year minimum experience working with animals
- Assist Veterinarians and Certified/Licensed Technicians with tasks such as (but not limited to):
- Patient-Admittance
- Pet-Identification
- Patient-Treatment
- Patient-Discharge
- Medical Record Management
- Exam Room Management
- Laboratory Management
- Surgical/Dental/Radiological duties
- Become familiar with the range of services the practice provides and the species we treat.
- Use proper medical terminology when speaking and writing.
- Be familiar with infectious diseases, including their prevention and steps to reduce or eliminate transmission. Know the most common zoonotic diseases (infections from animals to humans).
- Clean cages and runs, exam rooms, surgery/dental suite, and surgery/dental equipment
- Prepare and sterilize surgical packs
- Maintain a professional appearance while at work.
- Promote a positive attitude among staff.
- Have or be willing to obtain pre-vaccination for protection against rabies exposure
- Handle stress and pressure with poise and tact.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
