We are seeking a School Nutrition (Cafeteria) Manager and two Assistant Managers to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with USDA guidelines and school nutrition standards.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen and serving areas.
- Operate and care for kitchen equipment properly to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Oversee inventory management, including receiving and storing food and supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors, fostering a welcoming cafeteria environment.
- Manage team members to ensure smooth daily operations and meal service.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of food service management experience.
School nutrition experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certificate from the health department permitting him/her to handle food.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
