What are the responsibilities and job description for the Debone Chiller Operator - 2nd Shift position at waynefarms?
PAY: $20.75/hour $1,500 Sign & Stay Bonus WORK SCHEDULE: 4:30 PM - 1:35 AM BENEFITS: Available first day of hire PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for operating Chiller; adding chemicals as needed. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Check the main chill water meter reading at the beginning of shift. Check all the pipes (chill water, transfer water, red water) to insure they are set and hooked up correctly. Make sure pumps on chillers, windmills and transfer water pumps are turned on. Continuously monitor the overflow on the chiller. Make scheduled process control checks on the chiller. Ensure that chiller is setup according to the chiller procedure. Check temperature of birds exiting chiller. Perform HACCP critical control point temperature checks on birds every 30 minutes at the end of chiller. Make post-chill foreign material checks at post-chill station every hour. Continuously monitor the water level of the chillers. If water level begins to drop, notify evisceration supervisor and shift manager immediately. If bird temperatures reach 40 degrees or above, notify HACCP coordinator, shift manager and/or department supervisor immediately. Notify refrigeration personnel and shift manager should water temperature increase. In the event of a fecal failure on the chiller, know the procedure for replacing the water in the chill system. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours. Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent. Poultry industry experience. Basic math functions and skills. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Stand up to 8 hours. Lift up to 60 lbs. Exposure to wet and dusty environment. Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling. Work around raw, live animal odors.
