Overview
We are seeking a skilled Road Worker/Maintenance Person to join our team, responsible for ensuring the proper operation and upkeep of heavy equipment and road sites. This role requires a proactive individual with experience in heavy machinery operation, dedicated to maintaining safety standards and operational efficiency across various projects. The ideal candidate will possess skills in operation of mowers, and attachments effecting the general maintenance, repair and safety of Wayne Township roads. Must be able to drive and operate a pickup truck/dump truck pulling a loaded lightweight equipment trailer and be able to back trailer accurately and efficiently. Assist when patching roads and replacing culverts as needed. A significant amount of time will be spent mowing, plowing and removing debris from Township roadways using appropriate equipment.

Duties
- Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, and dump trucks to perform site preparation, grading, and material handling.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Assist in paving operations and other construction activities as needed.
- Possess a Class B CDL license
- Support work site activities by setting up work zones, managing materials, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment usage.
- Collaborate with Trustees and Road Superintendent to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs promptly.
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, or similar machinery is preferred, and will train on site.
- Road site experience is highly preferred, including familiarity with paving and general berming/patching processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in a maintenance environment while adhering to OSHA standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery.
