Essential Functions (job Duties)

The Department of Marketing at Wayne State University's Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a non-tenured track faculty position at the rank of Instructor - Teaching or Assistant Professor - Teaching, beginning Fall 2026.

• · Candidates are expected to teach four undergraduate or graduate marketing courses per semester, manage assessments, monitor student progress using the Learning Management System (Canvas), and maintain and update curriculum to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with course and program competencies. Instruction may be delivered in classroom, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• · The selected candidate is also expected to be an actively engaged member of the Mike Ilitch School of Business community. • · The selected candidate will be expected to engage in service activities to support the school's and university's operation and mission.
  
  

Qualifications

• · Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate marketing courses online or in person, maintaining faculty qualifications in accordance with AACSB standards, and actively participating in teaching-focused service. Ph.D. in Marketing or related field to be hired as an Assistant Professor - Teaching.
  
  

Minimum of graduate degree in marketing to be hired as an Instructor - Teaching.

• · Preferred candidates must demonstrate significant digital marketing and AI expertiseand familiarity with the marketing applications of emerging technologies. Candidates with experience in areas such as customer segmentation, predictive analytics, digital communication, personalized marketing, CRM, and marketing automation using AI tools are encouraged to apply, though deep technical expertise is not required.
• · Management of learning activities at the college level and contribution to initiatives that support the program's growth and mission. Mentoring students is also an essential component of the role.
