Yard Jockey Live - Second Shift

Shift: SHIFT TIMES MAY VARY

Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM until 10:00 PM

***OCCASIONAL SATURDAY & SUNDAY SCHEDULE***

Pay Ranges:

Entry through 4 years of Employment = $29.05

5 years through 9 years of Employment = $31.40

10 years through 14 years of Employment = $31.40

15 years through 19 years of Employment = $31.40

20 plus years of Employment = $31.40

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Yard Jockey moves trucks and trailers around in loading area, spots incoming trucks, and assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Move tractor trailer trucks and trailers around yard to load and unload
• Spot incoming trucks, relaying information to dock
• Assist with unloading and loading trucks as needed to help product flow to and from processing plant
• Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
  
  

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy
  
  

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School diplomas or equivalent preferred
• CDL License in good standing
• DOT certification
• Forklift certifiable
  
  

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Experience in driving tractor trailer
• Basic math and computer skills
• Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner; multi-lingual strongly preferred
• Ability to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring confidential information is relayed only on a need-to-know basis
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail
• Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
  
  

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
• Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift
• Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
