We are looking to fill a full time Millwork Plant Manager position with a specialty WOOD fabricator/manufacturer supporting the construction industry located in northern Tennessee, in the general area of White House, TN.
This person will be moving into a new millwork facility with 102,000 sf of shop space. Must be able to manage 75 to 100 workers across 2 or 3 shifts. Must have a strong wood fabrication background and be able to manage 45 million and growth to 80 million of millwork per year. Good communication skills dealing with Detailing, Programming, Project Managers and Installation Managers as needed to complete the work.
Salary Range:
· $90k to $125k per year DOE. Relocation assistance is available.
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant, from production and manufacturing, to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Will coordinate work with managers, design, and other staff in the shop to ensure products are created to meet or exceed company standards. They will develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
- Be responsible for production output, product quality, on-time shipping, while minimizing unnecessary costs
- Uses company software and systems to schedule and track all aspects of project production
- Provides feedback for the betterment of the program
- Review drawings and collaborate with design and project managers on an as-needed basis
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Build and maintain a trusting relationship with employees
o Recruit, manage and develop plant staff
o Communicate with employees about performance expectations
o Provide useful feedback to employees
o Ensure plant is adequately staffed
- Hire and schedule staff, and ensure training and development of operators to ensure proper execution of the defined processes
- Conduct performance reviews of subordinates, which will include S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Assignable, Realistic, Time-Related) goals
- Lead and manage the individual responsible for shop scheduling
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
- Commit to plant safety procedures and rules/regulations
- Will address plant safety through continuous training and avoidance methods
- Address employee(s) issues or grievances
- Stay abreast of equipment in need of preventative monthly maintenance and schedule maintenance, repair, or replacement as needed.
- Determine Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) and measure them on a regular basis
- Stay up to date with latest production trends, best practices, and technology
- Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer

Education and Experience:
- Forklift certification, required.
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Construction experience preferred with strong knowledge and background of Millwork which is required.

- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be willing to travel to various job sites.
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
