What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician - Full-time position at Wayne Memorial Hospital?
Full-time (days, evenings, ever other weekend, and rotating holidays)
Working only under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, candidate will assist the Pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Current pharmacy technician certification preferred;
- Computer experience desirable;
- Communicate effectively (orally and in writing);
- Perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods;
- Work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff;
- Handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule;
- Ability to set priorities, solve problems, respond quickly to emergency requests;
- Assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients;
- Must successfully pass a practical examination certifying ability to prepare medication and sterile products;
- Must demonstrate aseptic technique.
