Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. Not looking for painters, this individual will be prepping all work before going to paint. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for automotive restoration. This role involves restoring vehicles to their original condition, custom fabrications, accidents or damage, ensuring high-quality detailed workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Perform repairs on damaged vehicles, including bodywork, paint stripping, aligning panels, metal work, rust repair, fiberglass work and prep and paint.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to disassemble and assemble vehicle parts as needed. Detailed oriented, must be responsible and very organized.
- Work with sheet metal to repair or replace damaged sections of vehicles.
- Solder and weld components to restore structural integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with owner, technicians and staff.
- Comfortable working on custom vehicles, classics, Resto-mods, hot rods and imports.
Requirements
- Proven paint, body and restoration knowledge and experience in the fundamentals of automotive body repair.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to auto body work.
- Experience working with sheet metal is preferred fiberglass a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs.
- Previous experience in a restoration setting is a plus but not mandatory.
- A commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail is essential.
- Must be willing to learn our methods and system but open to experience.
- Must have their own transportation and located within Northern NJ.
