About The Job:
The Hamlin Community Library is looking for its next dedicated leader to continue to make our library grow and shine. Currently open 36 hours per week, with a staff of 4 part time assistants and many volunteers, the Library Director is in charge of all operations of the Hamlin Community Library. Officially, the library serves the residents of Salem and Lake Townships, but serves all Wayne County residents through its affiliation with the Wayne Library Alliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 9 hours of Library Science course work required or must be earned within two years of hire date.
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial experience highly preferred.
- Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace strongly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with staff and volunteers to provide high level of customer service to patrons.
- Maintain library collection to provide variety and value to patrons.
- Manage general office duties and keep library open during published hours.
- Manage and maintain QuickBooks under approved budget guidelines.
- Maintain all legal and historical records for the library.
- Facilitate library programs as well as fundraising events.
- Complete Education hours as mandated by the State of Pennsylvania.
- Work in cooperation with the Wayne Library Alliance, its member libraries, and coordinate with WLA System Administrator and District Consultant.
- Assist in preparation of all state and county reports as required.
- Knowledge of all Library Rules and Policies as mandated by the State of Pennsylvania and Bylaws as adopted by the Hamlin Library Board of Trustees.
Hours and Compensation
This is a full-time position. Hours are determined by the Board of Trustees as required to meet State standards.
Annual compensation for this position is $40,000.
