What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre Post Dept - Endoscopy Technician - Full-Time - First Shift position at Wayne Hospital Company?
This is an 8 hour per shift position working 40 hours a week with on call requirements. The position requires multiple skills in the areas of Unit Clerk, nursing assistant, and endoscopy tech. The applicant will be trained to do all three roles. This position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Surgical Services.
Qualifications
- Responsible to take call and must live within a 45-minute response time
- Language and math skills equivalent to the position.
- Possess good communication skills/must be personable and approachable.
- Possess good organizational skills.
- Ability to enter charges, statistics for the department, and schedule patients
- Prior Unit Clerk training desired
- Epic experience preferred
- Experience with word and excel
- Previous endoscopy experience preferred
- Previous nursing assistant experience required
Skill and Ability:
- Responsible for operating the nursing station performing clerical and receptionist duties.
- Responsible to complete “order-entry” and process all charges into the computer.
- Responsible to requisition supplies, equipment, and services form other departments.
- Assist in compiling necessary statistics monthly, yearly, and as necessary.
- Knowledge of the principles of direct patient care, basic observations and essential points of care concerning emergency patients.
- Physical ability must allow for frequent stooping, bending, lifting and moving of patients.
- Must be proficient with all the basic tasks of the position within three months of training.
- Should obtain minimal level of proficiency of tasks through experience by the end of three months.
- Knowledge of principles of direct patient care, certain treatments, basic observations, and essential points of care about emergency patients.
- Requires high level of mental alertness to avoid error and negative consequences to patients. Spends majority of time dealing with patients of which some may create stress, frustration, or high level of concern.
- Physical abilities must allow for frequent working, stooping, bending, and frequent lifting and moving of patients.
