Description
Wayne HealthCare is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to lead our Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for a 24-hour department, with a strong focus on quality care, staff development, collaboration, and regulatory compliance.
The Director will work closely with physicians, nursing leadership, administration, and education to support high-quality emergency care while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily operations of the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit
- Leading, developing, and evaluating nursing and support staff
- Managing department budgets, staffing, and scheduling
- Driving quality improvement, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures
- Promoting collaboration across departments and with medical staff
- Supporting professional growth and continuing education for the team
Qualifications:
- Current Ohio RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- BSN required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of five years of Emergency Department experience
- Previous department management experience required
- Specialty certification in emergency services or related area preferred
