Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Crisis Specialist or Behavioral Management System professional to join our team in the United States. Based at our facility, you will play a vital role in providing crisis intervention and behavioral support to youth, helping them navigate challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
General Responsibilities
Ensure that the daily schedule and all regular program activities are followed consistently. Ensure adherence to Aspen Youth Academy Behavioral Management System (BMS) policies and procedures and monitor facility compliance with all BMS handbook requirements. Participate in D-Board meetings with residents, calculate points resulting from disciplinary actions, and track phase progress. Review and follow up on resident grievances, assist with de-escalation of resident situations, and provide mentorship and support as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain compliance with Aspen Youth Academy BMS policies and procedures and ensure all staff and residents follow the BMS handbook.
Participate in camera reviews to ensure adherence to the daily schedule, program activities, incentives, and Behavioral Management System (BMS) requirements.
Maintain accurate tracking of daily point cards in accordance with BMS procedures.
Collect point cards at designated times and calculate daily, weekly, and monthly points.
Calculate weekly points and ensure weekly point sheets are posted in each unit every Wednesday.
Collaborate with team members to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly incentives are created, posted, and consistently implemented.
Monitor and document compliance with all incentive structures in collaboration with Operations under the BMS program.
Maintain knowledge of available community resources.
Provide daily mentoring and serve as a positive role model for residents in need of guidance.
Review, follow up on, and resolve resident grievances in a timely and appropriate manner.
Assist with de-escalation and crisis intervention in accordance with program guidelines.
Conduct or assist with small group and resident group activities as assigned.
Observe resident behavior and communicate concerns to counselors and/or shift supervisors when appropriate.
Provide support to residents during times of crisis while on shift.
Participate in the Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) program as requested.
Attend required training, seminars, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
Demonstrate competence in cultural awareness, sensitivity, and inclusivity.
Follow all applicable policies and procedures of Wayne Halfway House, Inc./Aspen Youth Academy.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Facility Administrator.
Qualifications: Must be 19 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED. Must have good computer skills and be familiar with the operation of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel), must possess a good work ethic. Experience working with children is preferred but not required. Must be honest. NO FELONY CONVICTIONS
