Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the hospital by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Monitor and analyze financial data for accuracy and trends
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and hospital policies
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation
- Process and review accounts payable and receivable as needed
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency
- Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred
- 25 years of accounting experience preferred (healthcare experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of cost reporting and reimbursement processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Primarily office-based
- May require extended hours during month-end close or audits
Salary : $48,000 - $52,000
