Job Qualifications
Required:
- Candidates must hold—or be eligible to obtain—appropriate NYSED Career & Technical Education certification and maintain it throughout employment.
- Applicants who are not yet certified will receive guidance on next steps, including selecting a pathway to certification. NYSED requirements typically include fingerprint clearance, DASA training, SAVE workshop, Child Abuse Identification training, and submission of education and work experience for a Transitional certificate. - This position requires pursuing New York State Teaching Certification in Trade Subjects – Vehicle Mechanical Repair (Including Heavy Equipment Operation and Repair). Candidates must have substantial experience diagnosing, repairing, and/or operating major electro-mechanical systems in automobiles and/or heavy equipment. Relevant experience may include:
- Automotive engine technician/mechanic
- Transmission technician/rebuilder
- Brake and suspension specialist
- Alignment specialist
- Successful candidates must continue through the full certification process until achieving Professional Level Certification.

Pay: $51,160.00 - $60,059.00 per year
