Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is hiring Teacher Aides to support students across our Special Education programs throughout the region. This is meaningful, hands-on work where your presence truly matters every single day.
As a Teacher Aide, you’ll play a critical role in helping students learn, grow, and succeed by providing individualized support in a structured, team-based school environment.

Work Schedule & Benefits
- 6 hours per day
- 10-month position following the school calendar (evenings, holidays, and summers off!) with option to work during summer school
- Hourly Pay Rate of $16.00 – $18.35 (dependent on experience)

As a Teacher Aide, you will:
- Support students individually or in small groups under the direction of a certified teacher
- Assist students with academic tasks, social skills, and daily routines
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Implement behavior support plans and follow established routines
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Assist with transitions, mobility, and personal care as needed
- Training is provided — you do not need classroom experience to apply.
- A genuine interest in working with students
- Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to complete required training (including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention)
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role when needed
- Must meet Ontario County Civil Service requirements found here: Teacher Aide
- Fingerprinting and background check required (per NYS Law)
