Job Description

Regional Summer School Middle School Teachers at various locations are needed throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards using curriculum and materials provided by participating districts.
• Maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and positive behavior.
• Maintain accurate student attendance and required documentation using the W-FL BOCES student management system.
• Collaborate with cooperative administrators and staff to support student learning and program operations.
• Participate in required staff orientation, trainings, and assigned program responsibilities.
• Record and finalize student grades and narrative comments in accordance with program expectations.
• Ensure all required student records are complete prior to the conclusion of the program

Wayne - Finger Lakes BOCES is coordinating Middle School Regional Cooperative Summer School programs:

• Seneca - East Wayne County (grades 7-8, Mynderse Academy)
• Yates County MS/HS (grades 7-12, Penn Yan Academy)
• Newark/Lyons Middle (grades 6-8, Newark MS)

• Grades 6-8, Special Education, Art (Newark only), Reading/Literacy AIS, Physical Education (Newark only), ENL/ESOL, Spanish (Newark and Mynderse only), French (Newark only)
  
  

Job Qualifications

Applicable New York State certification required

• Copies of all applicable New York State certifications
• Driver Education instructors must also submit a copy of their valid New York State Driver and Traffic Safety Education (DTSE) certification. Instructors assigned to teach the classroom (theory) component must also submit a copy of their New York State teaching certificate
• Principals and Assistant Principals must submit a copy of their valid certificate of internship, SBL, SDL, or SAS certifications
• Two (2) professional letters of reference and a cover letter (This requirement only applies to applicants who have not previously worked for W-FL BOCES Regional Summer School)
