Job Description
This position will support the Business Office at the Regional Support Center, Newark, NY 14513
$70,000 - $85,000
The Fiscal Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all financial operations of the department, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. This position plays a key role in budget development and analysis, contract and procurement oversight, and strategic financial planning, while collaborating with leadership and external stakeholders to support effective fiscal decision-making and efficient resource management. The Fiscal Manager develops and implements accounting and auditing systems to maintain accurate financial records; coordinates procurement and contract administration processes; and monitors expenditures and revenues to ensure alignment with approved budgets. Responsibilities include maintaining general ledgers and journal entries, preparing trial balances, reconciling accounts, and managing payroll functions. The role also involves conducting cost-benefit analyses, auditing vendors and program accounts, overseeing inventory and equipment management, and evaluating financial operations to recommend improvements to policies and procedures. Additionally, the Fiscal Manager prepares and presents financial reports, develops short- and long-term projections, provides strategic guidance to leadership, may supervise financial staff, and serves as a liaison with federal, state, and local agencies regarding funding and fiscal matters.

This is a competitive position. Must meet the requirements of the Ontario County Civil Service.
This is a NYS HELPS approved title for WFL BOCES through June 2026 through NYS Civil Service. Similar to Non-Competitive positions, this temporary approval waives the examination requirement for this title for all hires made during this temporary period. Interested candidates who are approved by the Ontario County Civil Service for the title based off of the required qualifications and experience outlined in the job description will be eligible for a probationary appointment if selected.
