Job Description
Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is seeking a dedicated and student-centered English as a New Language (ENL) Teacher to support English Language Learners (ELLs) in our component school districts. The successful candidate will help students develop the English language skills necessary to achieve academic success while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct instruction in English language development for multilingual learners.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with students' language proficiency levels and academic needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special area teachers, and support staff to ensure students have access to grade-level curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress in English language acquisition and academic achievement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation required under New York State regulations.
- Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and community partners to support student success.
- Participate in building and district initiatives, professional learning, and team collaboration.

Required
Job Qualifications
- Valid New York State certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- Demonstrated knowledge of language acquisition, culturally responsive teaching practices, and differentiated instruction.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with English Language Learners in a K-12 setting.
- Experience collaborating in co-teaching or integrated classroom environments.
- Familiarity with New York State ENL regulations and assessments.
- Special Education certification preferred, but not mandatory.
