Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Facilitator and Instructional Coach
Wayne Elementary School
Reports To: Elementary Principal
Job Summary: The MTSS Facilitator and Coach promotes student achievement and academic growth by providing school and district-wide leadership in the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices. This position supports educators through coaching, professional learning, data analysis, and collaborative problem-solving to improve teaching and learning outcomes for students. The Instructional Coach assists teachers in using student performance data to inform instruction, differentiate learning experiences, and implement effective accommodations, modifications, and interventions that ensure equitable access to grade-level academic standards. Working collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and support staff, the Instructional Coach fosters continuous improvement in instructional practices and supports the successful implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification, Instructional II required
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
- Master’s Degree with course work in curriculum and instruction preferred
- Evidence of improving student achievement
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in analyzing and using data for instructional decision-making
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, leadership and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the effective use of instructional technology
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assists in coordinating and facilitating the implementation of a comprehensive MTSS process in coordination with the building principal and district-level administrators.
- Reviews and analyzes student data, building data, and district data as they relate to the response to intervention, instruction, and professional development.
- Develops MTSS team agendas and facilitates meetings to advance the MTSS process to determine appropriate intervention plans for student success.
- Oversee the implementation of MTSS interventions and progress-monitoring systems, supporting data-driven decision-making and helping staff close achievement gaps through strong Tier 1 instruction and effective alignment of assessment and instructional practices.
- Supports intervention for students in reading and/or math.
- Prepares and delivers high quality professional development sessions for groups of teachers / school staff. Assists staff members in learning and implementing various instructional and assessment strategies.
- Provides consultative/collaborative/coaching services to staff and models effective instructional practices.
- Provides collegial feedback to teachers to improve alignment and delivery of the written, taught and assessed curriculum to promote student growth and close performance gaps.
- Supports the implementation of district initiatives, including the use of instructional technology to support learning.
- Prescribes and oversees intervention program implementation, online and in-person.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
