DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will provide in-home and community-based support to families and children involved with Wayne County Children & Youth Services. Your focus will be promoting family stability and child well-being by offering direct assistance in budgeting, parenting education, and household management, as well as facilitating transportation to essential appointments, overseeing supervised visitation, and providing emergency childcare. You will also participate in case planning, community outreach, and resource coordination to have a hand in the overall success of our agency’s services. This includes assisting with general and clerical duties to support agency operations, maintain records, and assist with seasonal and charitable programs. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- $1,500 sign on bonus available for this position after six months of service.
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Evening and weekend hours are routinely required for after-hours appointments, supervised visitation, and transportation.
- Possible travel requiring overnight stays.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or
- Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information;or
- An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will a drug screening.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
