DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Casework Manager 1, you will be responsible for supervising team consisted of an Agency's Social Service Aide Supervisor as well as Intake/Screening and On-Going Protective Services Casework Supervisors. You will be providing guidance and overseeing work, ensuring supervisors are making sound decisions, meeting deadlines, and adhering to established regulations and laws. Work involves conducting formal monthly evaluations, maintaining records of supervisory reviews, and approving leave, comp time requests, and timesheets. You may also be responsible for administrative on-call coverage. You will have the opportunity to assist the Children & Youth Administrator and Assistant Director in the development of the Agency's Annual Needs Based Plan and Budget and the policy and procedure manual. Additional responsibilities include:
- Reviewing problems or unusual cases presented by supervisors and discussing or making recommendations for solutions
- Actively participating on the Wayne County's Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
- Coordinating CY104 meetings with District Attorney's office and law enforcement
- Ensuring the Agency's preparedness for CPS appeal hearings through the Bureau of Hearings and Appeals
- Preparing correspondence, reports, court and legal documents, or other materials
- Attending meetings and conferences
- Conducting special projects as assigned by C&Y Assistant Director and/or Administrator
- Reviewing case records, checking for compliance with regulations and quality of the service delivery system in Wayne County
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Occasional overnight travel out of county for meetings or training may be required. Work schedule includes irregular hours, including evening and weekends.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in public or private social work which included one year in a public welfare program and one year in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
Pay: $51,460.50 per year
