- Hold at least an Associate's Degree, or
- Have 48 hours of transferable college coursework, or
- Have completed the Pathways to Teacher Assistant I (48 hours) and the Teacher Assistant Training II (48 hours) for 96 contact hours
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (or other language relevant to school community) strongly preferred.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Receptionist & Parent Liaison Officer for Brogden Middle School.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls in a pleasant, informed manner for the purpose of providing information and creating a good image of the district.
- Liaising, communicating, and nurturing enrolled family relationships as per the school improvement plan and parent engagement policy.
- Provides services primarily as a translator and parent liaison with the schools
- Maintain open lines of communication to existing parents to ensure their concerns, complaints and compliments feedback are handled effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner, escalating to relevant school leadership team (SLT) members when necessary and scheduling touch base meetings as required.
- Maintain communications with existing parents, handling queries and being the liaison between other school personnel and departments.
- Coordinate parent/community events in order to engage parents in school activities and celebrations.
- Maintains resources for parents to check out to help with their child's academic achievement
- Acting as first point of contact for all parental complaints by monitoring, following up and escalating concerns as required.
- Welcoming & engaging with prospective parents & visitors and addressing their needs with a smile e.g., processing requests such as Item or Food drop-off / Early pickup / Tardies
- Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers.
- Maintain security by following procedures and controlling access (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
- Update appointment calendars and schedule meetings/appointments.
- Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or make copies of correspondence or other printed material
- Prepare conference or event materials, such as flyers or invitations.
- Ten month employment/At-Will/FLSA Non-Exempt
Evaluation
- Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board and local policy on evaluation of personnel.
- The candidate must have excellent customer service, negotiation skills & a flair for numbers.
- Functional computer skills are required, including spreadsheet creation, Google or Microsoft presentation software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.

- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children in distress.

- Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
- Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
