- The Wayne County Health Department has a job opening for a full-time Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist in Training that meets the requirements of the Ohio Department of Health in accordance with Chapter 4736 of the Ohio Revised Code. The responsibilities of this position include but not be limited to conducting inspections for all state-mandated licensing programs. . Preference for experience in Private Water, Food and Solid Waste Programs. Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science-related field and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office and have good technical abilities. This position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient and accurate manner and the ability to communicate effectively with the public. The position’s normal hours are M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with occasional evenings and weekends. Hours can be flexible. Salary will be based on experience with excellent benefits.
