Job Description:
Hours: Full time (40 hours)
Days: five 8-hour shifts
The Wayne County Care Center is currently accepting applications for the position of full time Infection Preventionist for the County’s 50 bed skilled/ intermediate nursing facility.
Responsibilities of the RN – Infection Preventionist / Wound Nurse:
- Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and oversee the infection prevention and control program in accordance with current regulations and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities
- Keep the facility staff in compliance with regulations that govern the facility
- Ensure patient care is handled appropriately, including documentation and procedures in a timely manner
- Follow care plans, do rounds with the Dr. and enter orders
- Communicate with other staff to ensure residents are provided with the best experience possible
- Ensure that staff are mentored to provide constant, quality resident care and documentation
- Must participate in facility inspections, as needed and perform administrative duties
Requirements of Infection Preventionist / Wound Nurse:
- Valid RN
- Minimum 1- year health care experience, in a supervisory role
- Experience in Point Click Care preferred
- Compassion for and commitment to hospitality, service and excellence in senior care
- Ability to make decisions, plan organize, develop, implement and interpret policies
- Adaptable and able to work under pressure
