Pay Grade - 23
Annual Compensation ($USD): 76,155 paid on a bi-weekly basis. Individual pay is determined by the applicable CBA and related articles.
A Brief Overview
Under general supervision, the Sign Maker Supervisor oversees the day-to-day activities of the WCAA Sign Shop, including developing, coordinating, and managing the sign programs and projects. Responsibilities also include supervising sign painters, allocating materials and equipment, and assisting the Facilities Maintenance managers in prioritizing work.
What you will do
- Reviews work orders to determine type of sign to be made, resources to be used and project specifications. Conducts inspections or site visits to determine specific needs.
- Develops project scopes and estimates for new projects/program requests.
- Coordinates prioritization of work, purchase of materials, and development of program/project budgets.
- Coordinates and assists as needed, in the design and fabrication of signs/signage based on need and applicable local, state, federal standards/code requirements.
- Monitors and ensures quality of work and compliance with applicable standards/code requirements.
- Assists with appropriate selection of materials for signage, including but not limited to substrate, lettering, reflective coatings, etc.
- Trains Airport Sign Shop personnel in the use of sign fabrication software programs and applicable standards/codes.
- Supervises work of Airport Sign Makers including work order facilitation, inventory management, and productivity.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency, and
- 5 or more years of sign painting/making experience, including operating vinyl cutter/plotter and applying vinyl graphics to various substrates and vehicles. Should be knowledgeable of techniques and materials used in fabrication of signs to achieve a professional appearance and in accordance with industry standards.
- Proficient using computer software for sign production such as: Flexi Sign Pro or Vision Pro 8 and wide format printing, Epilog laser engraving and embroidery.
- A Valid Driver's License and a safe, acceptable driving record.

Special Conditions
Must maintain the ability to qualify for a security ID badge.
