Job Overview
Wayne Art Center, a vibrant arts organization dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic expression in our community, is seeking a Ceramics/Wheel Throwing Educator for our 2026 Summer Art Camp. Our 2026 Summer Art Camp program runs for 11 one-week sessions beginning June 8.
Responsibilities:
Teach wheel throwing and clay handling techniques to teens ages 12 .
Develop engaging week-long lesson plans that inspire creativity and learning.
Manage classroom activities and ensure a positive learning environment.
Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall program experience.
Requirements:
Degree in Fine Art, Ceramics, a related field.
Previous teaching experience, especially with children.
Strong proficiency in ceramics techniques and styles, including wheel throwing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creativity, patience, and a passion for working with young artists.
Ability to manage a classroom and engage students effectively.
