$196,000—$248,000 USD

- This hybrid role will report to a Vehicle Engineering Leader.
- Developing custom vehicle harness’ for future Waymo vehicles
- Create 3D routing within evolving vehicle architecture, CatiaV5/ V6 electrical workbench
- Create 2D layout/ harness drawings using Mentor Graphics Capital suite
- Participation in peer reviews for 2D / 3D designs in accordance with Waymo guidelines and best practices
- Select appropriate harness components including terminals, connectors, wire types and sizes, harness coverings
- Working with Tier one harness suppliers to quote, DFM and manufacture harnesses for volume production
- Negotiation of routing and attachment locations in the evolving vehicle environment
- Interacting with Waymo partner OEMs to co-develop/ inform their vehicle wiring architecture.
- Troubleshooting and repair guidance
- Evidence of landing multiple wiring projects on several vehicle platforms, having gone through vehicle launches, troubleshooting, drawing updates.
- Catia electrical workbench, modeling 3D harness in a vehicle environment
- Past experience with ‘Wiring Engineering’, for example, calculating wire size, determining voltage drops,
- Participated in wiring DFMEAs, DVP creation and execution
- Electrical wiring component library experience
- Capital Logic tool-set experience for schematic development
- Troubleshooting / Warranty experience
- Harness manufacturing and repair experience
- Travel to Vehicle team in Novi MI, possibly once per quarter
- Travel to vendors and OEM partners likely once per 4-6 weeks. Some domestic, some overseas
