Job requires worker to complete tasks in General Farm Labor and Hand Harvest of Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Tomatoes, Asparagus, Squash, Peppers, Pumpkins, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Eggplant, Potatoes, Beans, Cucumbers, Zucchini, Beets, Radishes, Turnips, Onions, Kohlrabi, Lettuce, Kale, Spinach, Swiss Chard, Arugula, Carrots, Collard Greens, Brussels Sprouts, Sweet Corn, and Herbs. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties. Farmworker: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: maintain and clean field, including mow, weed, and pick up rocks; assemble and install greenhouse and high tunnel; install, maintain and repair fencing and irrigation; assemble, pin and disassemble plastic tunnels; plant, transplant and seed plants; lay plastic; install tomato trellising; clip growing tomato plants; stake plants and apply tying twine between stakes; plastic mulch clean-up; string removal; thin and prune plants; unbundle wires; hand harvest to quality standards asparagus, beans, beets, blueberries, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, carrots, cabbage, cantaloupe, watermelon, cauliflower, cucumbers, eggplant, leafy greens/lettuce/herbs, onions, peppers, potatoes, pumpkin, radish, blackberry, squash, strawberry, sweet corn, tomato (grape), tomato (fresh market), turnip, kohlrabi, and zucchini; drive tractor to/from worksites with different attachments that assist with planting, harvesting, maintaining, cleaning, cultivating, transporting or transplanting; drive trucks to deliver produce and supplies to Way Farms LLC’s farm market; operate hay and straw baling equipment; stack bales by hand on a wagon or trailer; maintain harvest buckets, bags, bins, and equipment; repair and maintain farm equipment; packing and sorting activities such as dump, clean, grade, sort, count, pack, and stack produce to customer standards. Assembly, wash, sanitize, and disassembly of market pole tent, tables and displays. Wash, clean, and sanitize of Walkin coolers. Worker must be able to perform job description duties in safe manner consistent with established safety procedures. Field work begins at assigned time shortly after daylight. Work may be scheduled during moderate rain, in high humidity, when trees/crops are wet with dew/rain, and in temperatures as low as 15 degrees F and up to 105 degrees F. Worker should have suitable clothing for variable weather conditions. Employer conducts and worker must attend orientation on workplace rules, harvest methods, crop specific issues, policies and safety information. Employer provides and worker must comply with instructions and general supervision. Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent with Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse under Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Standard Occupational Classification Code 45-2092. Contract hours represent anticipated work schedule. Prevailing practice results in adjusting hours and work schedule to meet agriculture needs due to crop conditions, weather, and requirement to send product to market when fresh.
