LTL Local P&D CDL A Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailer trucks with manual transmission, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections on refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment to guarantee vehicle safety and cargo integrity.
• Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs within local LTL routes.
• Load and unload freight manually or with forklift assistance, handling logistics cargo with care while adhering to hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods.
• Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, managing delivery documentation and obtaining signatures as needed.
• Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and compliance records in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues promptly, and provide excellent customer service.

Skills

• Proven experience driving commercial trucks with manual transmission in a delivery or route-driving environment.
• Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations and handling hazardous materials or dangerous goods when applicable.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning within local areas.
• Ability to load/unload freight safely using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment; experience with freight logistics cargo handling is preferred.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, hazardous materials regulations, and truck loading/unloading procedures.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean record in commercial truck driving; experience with tractor-trailer units such as flatbeds or tankers is advantageous.
• Ability to manage time effectively on over-the-road (OTR) driving routes while maintaining safety standards at all times.

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
