Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, to deliver freight to various locations.
- Load and unload cargo using equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized trailers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Follow designated routes driving efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Manage documentation for deliveries, including delivery manifests, route logs, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean driving record and uphold company safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers or delivery trucks with manual transmissions.
- Familiarity with various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
- Strong knowledge of route driving best practices and safety procedures for freight transportation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
