Aerial Design Tech (OSP Data QA/QC)

Locations: Kansas City, MO

Pay: $21.00 – $27.00/hr (Commensurate with experience)

The Mission: Precision in Infrastructure

On behalf of our client, a leader in telecommunications infrastructure, we are seeking 5-6 Aerial Design Techs to join their expanding team. This is a crucial desktop-based Quality Assurance/Quality Control role. The selected technicians will act as the "eyes on the data," reviewing field-collected information to ensure the integrity of the client's Outside Plant (OSP) infrastructure designs before they move to final engineering.

Our client is seeking two types of contributors:

• Entry-Level/Academic Track: Individuals with a GIS degree or related educational background looking to jump-start a career in OSP.
• Experienced Track: Professionals with a background in Make Ready work, pole loading, and OSP design.

Daily Impact

The technician will perform desktop reviews of field data collected during pole audits. This involves analyzing photos, verifying heights and connections, and identifying potential conflicts to ensure the construction teams are working off accurate, high-quality information.

• Data Integrity: Read, interpret, and input data with a high degree of accuracy.
• QC Analysis: Review field audits to verify compliance with design standards. Identify conflicts between highway/road prints and existing OSP facilities.
• Collaboration: Communicate effectively with field crews, vendors, and engineering teams to resolve data discrepancies.
• Reporting: Document and track progress daily, ensuring that all project files are organized and maintained.

The Two Tracks

Track A: Entry-Level / Junior

• Ideal For: Recent graduates (GIS or related field) or those with minimal real-world OSP experience.
• Focus: Training, data accuracy, and learning the technical software stack.
• Pay Rate: $21.00 – $24.00/hr.

Track B: Experienced

• Ideal For: Professionals with 2 years of experience in OSP, specifically Make Ready and Pole Loading.
• Focus: High-level analysis, conflict resolution, and complex design validation.
• Pay Rate: $24.00 – $27.00/hr.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Software Proficiency: Experience with hardware and software tools such as IKE, ArcMap, Ocalc Pro, CAD, ArcGIS, and Google Earth.
• Analytical Ability: A high level of comfort working with data, reading road prints, and performing detailed desktop reviews.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional critical thinking and manual dexterity; highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
• Environment: The candidate must be able to remain focused while working seated at a table for extended periods.
