JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based visual arts instruction for middle school learners
- Teach a variety of artistic media and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art
- Integrate art history, cultural perspectives, and contemporary practices into lessons
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
- Create and maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters belonging
- Establish clear expectations and effectively manage student behavior
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback to support growth and achievement
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and student voice through meaningful art experiences
- Manage art supplies, materials, and equipment responsibly
- Display and celebrate student artwork within the school and community
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Participate in professional development and ongoing learning

QUALFICATIONS
- Valid Iowa teaching license
- Endorsement 113 - K-8 Art
- Endorsement 114 - 5-12 Art
