What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Driver position at Waverly Place Assisted Living and Memory Care?

The Transportation Driver is responsible for assuring that community-sponsored scheduled transportation is implemented appropriately and timely, with resident safety and security the primary priority.
1. Successfully meets all requirements of the Transportation Driver position, and meets and completes ongoing training and driver requirements.
2. Transports community residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and shopping errands using the community vehicle.
3. Completes routine periodic vehicle inspection checks, and reports any maintenance problems or safety issues that need to be addressed.
4. Is flexible for unscheduled transportation needs in an emergency.
6. Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action; demonstrates consistently pleasant demeanor, tone of voice, supports the mission statement and approach to care used by the community.
7. Maintains an acceptable attendance record; notifies supervisor if late or unable to work in accordance with personnel polices; follows the assigned work schedule.
8. Consults and works with the Life Enrichment Director in implementing appropriate activities as they relate to the physical, emotional, and social needs of individual residents.
9. Follows monthly calendar for scheduled activities.
10. Ensures activity areas are well maintained.
11. Drives the community vehicle for scheduled activities.
12. Keeps Life Enrichment Director informed of department needs.
