Waverley Surgery Center is an ambulatory surgery center in Palo Alto. We focus exclusively on same-day patients and are committed to excellence in this specific area. We are continually reevaluating and improving our practices based on the latest evidence-based research. Waverley is one of two local outpatient surgery centers managed by AMSURG. As a facility owned in part by physicians, much of our innovation is driven by our doctors’ first-hand observations. For our patients, this means access to care that is truly state-of-the-art.
We are currently searching for a Pre-op/PACU RN full-time to work Mondays – Fridays who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks. Hours vary depending on case schedule. Major responsibilities include: Pre- op duties – interviewing, assessing patients, starting IVs and patient teaching. PACU responsibilities include post anesthesia recovery, pain management and patient education. Endoscopy experience preferable.
Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills, be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, have a current California state license to practice as a registered nurse, maintain basic cardiac life support certification, ACLS and PALS (within 6 months if not current) and have a minimum of two years of Pre-op and PACU experience; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center. No new grad program available at this time.
