Waverley Council is seeking motivated and community focused individuals to join our team as a Parking Officer on a temporary 6-month contract.

In this role, you will support delivery of best practice parking functions and general enforcement services for residents, ratepayers, and visitors across the Waverley Council Local Government Area (LGA).

What you’ll do

  • Conduct regular patrols across the LGA to ensure safe, accessible, and compliant parking
  • Support the delivery of high-quality parking services to the community
  • Investigate parking-related and general complaints, following established procedures
  • Issue warnings, cautions, infringements, or notices in accordance with the applicable legislation
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of inspections, actions taken, and outcomes
  • Engage with public in a professional, respectful and customer focused manner
  • Act as an ambassador for Council, upholding organisational values in all interactions
  • Work within a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays as required

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role with sound verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven skills in the use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Merit and an understanding of internal online portals.
  • Proven ability to deal with sensitive issues and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Proven ability to carry out tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner across the 7days of the week roster
  • Proven ability to record accurate information and good IT skills.
  • Class C drivers’ licence
