Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral care.
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and repositioning to promote safety and comfort.
- Support feeding, hydration, and nutrition, ensuring residents receive correct diets and assistance when needed.
- Measure and record vital signs, weights, and intake/output, reporting changes in condition to nursing staff.
- Assist with pressure injury prevention and skin care through regular repositioning and monitoring.
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments in accordance with infection control standards.
- Document resident care and observations accurately according to facility procedures.
- Promote resident dignity, rights, and confidentiality while interacting respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
- Participate in resident activities and engagement, including dementia care support on specialized units when assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and registration in the State of Connecticut required.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform routine nursing care under supervision.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and professionalism when working with elderly residents.
- Long-term care or geriatric care experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physical duties including lifting, transferring, and assisting residents with mobility.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and reliability.
