Waveguide is seeking a skilled Network Engineer SME to design, implement, and maintain robust network infrastructures that support our organization's critical operations. This role combines strategic network planning with hands-on technical implementation, requiring expertise in network architecture, performance optimization, and collaborative problem-solving.
Role Description
-Design, configure and maintain network infrastructure(s)
-Perform network designs and networks
-Plan network configurations for integration into the network and ensure integration
-Prepare technical proposals for presentation to engineering review boards for approval
-Perform operational and maintenance activities
-Utilize network analysis tools to identify performance problems in the network
-Troubleshoot to restore network to optimal performance levels
-Review user requests for upgrades/additions to the network to assess impact on network
-Provide advice/guidance on the most practical/cost-benefit technical approach
-Analyze customer requirements and solve problems with innovative solutions.
-Provide expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks including
-Provide expert knowledge to sustain network integrity and connectivity
-Ensuring compliance with policies and maintain system backup and recovery capabilities
-Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software
-Create plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
-Design and build hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
-Stay current on knowledge of relevant technology.
-Serve as a task lead and be recognized as a SME in network engineering.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Network Administration and Maintenance
- Strong skills in Network Engineering, including infrastructure setup and configuration
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving technical issues through Troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Network Security practices and implementation
- Expertise in Network Design and architecture
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively
- Familiarity with advanced routing protocols, firewalls, and network monitoring tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus
- Security clearance level: TS/SCI with polygraph
- US citizenship required
