Dental Assistant – Full-Time (24–32 Hours/Week)

Mount Vernon Dental Smiles | Alexandria, VA

Mount Vernon Dental Smiles is seeking an experienced and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing team in Alexandria, Virginia. This is a full-time position (24–32 hours per week), working Monday through Wednesday, ideal for a skilled assistant looking for a stable schedule and a modern, patient-focused practice.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of dental assisting experience required
• Strong experience assisting with advanced dental procedures, including:
• Implants
• Clear aligners
• Endodontics
• Surgical extractions
• Proficient with Open Dental software
• Experience with iTero scanning preferred
• Excellent chairside manner and patient communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor during advanced and general dental procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper sterilization protocols
• Take digital X-rays and impressions/scans as needed
• Educate patients on procedures and post-op instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support a high standard of patient care and professionalism

Requirements

Education and Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one-year related experience and/or training or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in the dental profession.
• Valid X-ray certificate.
• Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements).
• CPR & first aid certificate.
