What are the responsibilities and job description for the Girls Basketball Varsity Head Coach position at Wauwatosa School District?
Anticipated Start Date: November 9, 2026
Anticipated Hours: 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Please Note: Coaches will be required to complete the NFHS "Fundamentals of Coaching" course within the first year.
Required:
- Previous playing and/or coaching experience
- Ability to organize practice and game strategy
- Mentor and instruct individuals and team development
- Provide a fun, enthusiastic learning environment
- Supervise and direct daily practices
- Develop skill sets and improvement in individual and team play
- Knowledge of the sport
- Strong communication skills - with students at practices, with parents about travel times, expectations, etc., administrator with practice times, travel, etc.
- Supervise and mentor students at practices and games or other athletic activities
Preferred:
- Licensed teacher/counselor
- Previous head coaching experience
