Responsibilities
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel alignment, and structural straightening using hand tools, grinders, and welding equipment.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primer, paint, clear coat, and finish with buffing techniques using conventional spraying and airless paint sprayers for flawless results.
- Restore vehicle integrity and safety standards.
- Utilize automotive refinishing techniques such as surface preparation masking, buffing, and detailing to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Operate power tools safely for grinding, sanding, welding, and other repair tasks while adhering to respiratory protection protocols.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance and auto restoration projects by applying mechanical knowledge and auto estimating skills when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or professional experience in auto body repair and auto painting is highly preferred.
- Strong welding skills combined with mechanical knowledge for structural repairs.
- Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, power tools, and surface preparation equipment.
- Experience with automotive refinishing techniques including surface masking, spraying (conventional or airless), buffing, and detailing.
- Knowledge of auto glass replacement procedures and vehicle maintenance practices.
- Ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and estimates.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software is a plus but not required.
