Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management
- Recruit, train, develop, and motivate retail staff to deliver outstanding customer service
- Oversee inventory management, inventory rotation and inventory control to maximize sales and minimize losses
- Implement effective merchandising and visual displays to attract customers and promote featured products
- Manage scheduling, shift assignments, and operational workflows to ensure smooth daily store functions
- Conduct employee orientation sessions and ongoing training to support team growth
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Experience
- Proven management experience within the retail industry or thrift store environment with a focus on leadership and operational oversight
- Strong background in supervising staff with excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate diverse teams
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, bookkeeping and cash handling procedures
- Skilled in retail math for pricing strategies, sales analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Experience with POS systems, purchasing processes, merchandising techniques, and marketing initiatives
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory roles with responsibilities in employee recruitment, training & development, and operational management are preferred
