Blast Operator

Description

Position Overview:
Wausau Tile is seeking a hardworking, energetic, quality- and safety-minded individual to support production operations within our Paving Department. This role primarily involves operating the blast line to meet quality control requirements but may include working across multiple stations such as Seal, Grinder, CNC, Vibro Takeoff, and Saws. The ideal candidate works well independently or in a team, pays attention to detail, and follows technical and safety protocols closely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, adjust, and clean machinery for producing high-quality precast concrete pavers.
• Perform inventory transactions and track production using MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
• Set up machines, run daily production, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
• Rotate between various production stations (e.g., blasting, sealing, grinding, cutting, CNC).
• Read and follow production paperwork, including blueprints, spec sheets, and instructions.
• Ensure all products meet quality standards; make adjustments as needed and collaborate with QC.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, twisting, and kneeling.
• Repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, shoulders, back, and neck.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to ascend/descend ladders or stairs and operate basic computer systems for production tracking.
