Big Bay- Grout- 3rd Shift

Position Summary:

Wausau Tile is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Production Associate to support our Site Furnishings and Finishing teams in the Big Bay area. This hands-on position involves mold preparation, concrete casting, demolding, grouting, and surface finishing of concrete and terrazzo products. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or within a team setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mold Preparation & Assembly:

• Clean fiberglass molds for products such as waste containers, planters, benches, and bollards.
• Apply mold release agents and install rebar, bolt inserts, and reinforcements.
• Assemble molds using tools, hoists, clamps, and lifting devices.

• Mold Removal & Product Handling:

• Disassemble molds carefully to prevent damage.
• Use cranes or hoists to lift and move products to pallets or staging areas.

• Grouting & Surface Finishing:

• Patch and grout using appropriate concrete mixtures.
• Perform manual or machine sanding to meet finishing standards.
• Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on all products.
• Move finished items to the next processing stage via pallet jacks, forklifts, or cranes.

Tools & Equipment Used:

• Hand Tools: Scrapers, pliers, chisels, vice grips, screwdrivers, wrenches
• Power Tools: Cordless drills, impact drivers, orbital/palm sanders, grinders
• Pneumatic Tools: Concrete and epoxy vibrating tools
• Lifting Equipment: Forklifts, pallet jacks, walk-behind lifts, hoists, cranes, suction pads
• Forklifts: Sit-down forklift operation (training provided)

Qualifications & Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret production paperwork, blueprints, and specs
• Mechanically inclined with basic maintenance ability
• Self-motivated and capable of managing workload independently
• Detail-focused with a commitment to quality and precision
• Able to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and care

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
• Regular lifting or moving of materials up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive use of hands, wrists, shoulders, and back
• Ability to use stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms safely
