The Wausau School District is seeking a Building Level Technical Assistant (known as a Computer Technical Assistant) to provide support for the use of technology and to act as the first point of contact for technological problem resolution. This position will support the Wausau School District mission to advance student learning, achievement and success.
This position will be based at Horace Mann Middle School, Montessori Charter School and Hewitt Texas Elementary School.
EDUCATION
Required: High School graduate
Desired: Some clerical, computer and network training
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: Experience supporting technology and have basic understanding of enterprise technology support practices
Positive experience working with children
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Install, configure and upgrade computer workstations, peripherals, and other technology and audio-visual hardware devices
● Install and configure local and network software applications
● Diagnose and repair hardware functionality problems
● Diagnose and repair minor network connectivity issues
● Troubleshoot issues related to software
● Assist end-users with the selection and use of instructional and administrative hardware and software
● Assist with preventative maintenance of technology equipment
● Participate in team collaboration
● Coordinate and schedule building level resources such as computer labs, media retrieval systems, and audio-visual equipment and materials
● Provide technology support to locations and projects that are needed across the District
● Perform basic troubleshooting with telephone connectivity and voicemail
● Initiate, modify and communicate ideas, methods or procedures consistent with the District Technology Department
● Keep current and have willingness to learn the Technology as it changes
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
● Knowledge of AV equipment use and function
● Demonstrates a basic understanding of networking
● Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills
● Hardware troubleshooting experience (including parts and components)
● A global understanding of mobile device configuration and administration
● Experience supporting technology (hardware and software)
