Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Set Up Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up CNC machines to produce high-precision components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, quality standards are met, and safety protocols are strictly followed. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate VMC's and HMC's, using Fanuc and Okuma controls, ensuring precise execution of complex machining tasks.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to ensure accurate part production.
- Perform tooling changes, adjustments, and calibrations using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts with coordinate measuring machines precision gauges, and other measurement devices to verify quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to lean manufacturing principles; document setup procedures and production logs accurately.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, tooling components, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements; understanding of basic shop mathematics essential for setup accuracy.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; familiarity with safety protocols related to manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
