Position Criteria:
- Valid State of Iowa teaching license with 5-12 Music endorsement
- Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed
- Must exhibit ethical practices and be a role model to students
Performance Criteria
- Serve as primary director for one co-curricular jazz ensemble
- Assist with auditions for the jazz program
- Schedule rehearsals for a section of jazz band
- Collaborate with band directors to determine the jazz band’s calendar of events
- Collaborate with band directors to keep the programs interacting and working together in a positive manner
- Participate in performances and contests as selected and appropriate
- Assist with hosting the Jazz Band competitions
- Coordinate bus/transportation needs
- Assist with set up and clean up after band events
- Communicate with guardians, community, staff, administration, and other stakeholders regarding schedules, competitions, transportation, etc.
- Collaborate with facility support staff as needed including Operations and Performing Arts Center Management
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District
